Practice Philosophy
Dr. Veal enjoys the diversity of treating both adolescents and adults and emphasized a non-extraction therapy in all age groups. This is best accomplished, however, with adolescents when "baby" teeth are still present. Because of that, Dr. Veal encourages parents to bring their children (7 to 8 years of age) for a quick "look-see" if they suspect any possible orthodontic problems.
Since Dr. Veal treats all age groups, a variety of braces are offered. The new, high-tech SPEED braces are available for late teens and adults. They are smaller braces with reduced friction and thus shorter treatment times and more patient comfort. CLEAR or translucent braces are available for those desiring the optimum in esthetics while still providing excellent results. INVISALIGN is the most recent and the most esthetic braces available. These state-of-the-art "braces" are virtually undetectable by others and are ideal for certain adult orthodontic problems. Traditional braces are also offered and are usually best for adolescents, especially since the colored elastic ties can be changed with different colors at each visit.
Dr. Veal and his Team stay on the cutting edge of the latest developments in orthodontics to insure the best possible care for their patients. At the initial exam, digital photos are taken of the mouth and face to enable Dr. Veal to give a thorough review of the orthodontic problem and then explain the most appropriate method of orthodontic correction. This procedure permits answering all patient questions at the initial visit.
